Traits for Success: What question started it all?

THE QUESTION THAT STARTED IT ALL

Is a family's success by default or by design?

It's a simple answer. Success is by design. How does an entrepreneur, business owner, or a family design success? What traits, habits, and characteristics result in sustainable prosperity for current and future generations?

We have to go deeper and explore.

There are three important factors that are constants in a design that produces sustainable wealth. This series of posts, studies, and analysis represents one ingredient in the design. It has been found that we tend to allow the connections between the stories of failures and the stories of successes; how we solved problems and how we used our creativity, ingenuity, integrity, and philanthropy, to remain a mystery. Finally we do not then connect the insights we would gain from this to our investing philosophy.

What is your true purpose for money?

The answer to this question is not that simple. It takes soul searching and a deeper level of knowing yourself, traits, and characteristics to define it in one word. The reward is worth the effort because once you understand yourself this way, you know the core driving forces to your success.

How do you define success?

While we may know that there is not one answer, regardless, success also cannot be defined in black and white. Success is, in fact, a range or continuum. Documenting your story and identifying your purpose carves out your design for sustained success. This design will clarify your financial goals. A design based firmly on your purpose and story defines your goals in terms that are realistic based on resources and capacity. It also helps you leverage those resources and capacity to get the most out of them.
